Sustainable Accoya Decking Amersham
Accoya decking with a custom finish was used to great effect in this well planted garden.
The Accoya modified decking was heavily brushed and was designed to be fitted with secret fasteners. The boards measured 194mm in width and still only 19mm in thickness.
The perimeter of this raised decking structure was clad in acid-etched zinc galvanised steel forms. The detail within the timber grain has been enhanced by brushing the surface of the timber boards. This lifts the grain and gives a tactile finish… it’s the perfect finish to walk on in bare feet.
This timber will weather down to a silver grey over the first couple of years. This organic and natural colour will contrast to the blue-grey of the zinc panels.
There is planting to the sides of the decking. Varying shades of green purple and white to complement the existing Wisteria. This planting colour scheme will contrast to the grey tones of the deck and the steel edging.
Karl Harrison Said, “This deck is amazing. It’s actually one of my favourite decks that I’ve ever built”
The decking boards, whilst fitted with secret fixings, in places have had rebated holes created for fixings. It is in these holes where plugs are inserted to cover the screw heads. This does offer a high level of fixing for a garden deck.
Client Feedback
“Karl has been a joy to work with as his passion for garden design never failed even when we reworked the plans several times to come up with a design that met our scope and was within our budget. Many months later, as the trees and plants have settled in and we have witnessed the changes, it has been a pleasure to see the garden mature and give us what we envisaged. Karl and his team were always courteous and worked through rain and snow to ensure the hard landscaping was completed by the deadline and then returned for the planting according to our request that it was dog and wildlife friendly. We particularly liked it that Karl was involved in the detail of the build and planting and not just the design.”
